This typically does not work. Most of the VoIP lines use codecs which do not 
work well with the modulation of modems. 

You typically experience the first problem with fax machines which do not work 
anymore. And those are also low baud-rate. So dont expect bisync modems to 
work, cause the timing of those A/D converters and codecs are not at all 
useable by modems. There are some VoIP routers which can recognize fax, they 
will turn off all echo cancelation, use a non-compressing codec (like G.711) 
and reduce the jitter buffers. You might be able to configure that on your VoIP 
Servers but dont expect it to be enough.

What bisync connection is that? I cannot imagine any partner who will not 
applaud if you propose to switch.

BTW: there is support for Fax over VoIP (T.38, which receives digital 
datastreams, but I think this is only working with Fax data not general digital 
streams).
