I don't know the "SI" mapping tool so there may be some intrinsic way to handle 
it.

e.g I do a lot of work with Mercator / DataStageTX  and ASCII-EBCDIC 
conversions are like a one-line change in the type definition. 
It's actually a lot harder to get the guys on the EBCDIC side to define files 
without "packed" data...
