one important thing is to make the response pattern FOR the examinees/Ss as 
straighforward as possible ... and while the items might be worded in some 
cases + (i think statistics is useful) or - (i think statistics is a waste 
of time) ... the response OPTIONS should stay constant so as not to confuse 
the respondents

if you don't, it is kind of like have a test where you have a mixture of TF 
items ... and 3 and 5 option mc items ... in sort of a random order ... 
there are bound to be MARKING clerical errors on the part of the examinees 
.... at least put the 5 option together ... 3 option together .. and the TF 
together ...
