Some suggestions to get info to inform your decision.

Check with that department. See if it is possible to go part-time. How
much of your prior education will count toward the doctorate: Nothing
since Bachelors? Would only need 18 credits plus dissertation ?

Do you want to teach? At what level? Will they take you on as a
part-time instructor while (or even before you start ) doing your program?

Check with your current employer. Do they have "released time" for
education? Do they have leaves of absence? Will they even pay for school?

Hope this helps.
