Hello Luke,

  This setting is configured in [lms|cms].env.json file, the Native install 
places these files in /edx/app/edxapp directory. To get the files this 
setting is called, just explore sources on github 
<https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=registration_email_patterns_allowed&type=>
.
