I recently published a blog post about Why We're Excited about Open edX
Hawthorn, which you can read
here: https://appsembler.com/blog/open-edx-hawthorn/

I've been working with Open edX since even before the first official Aspen
release, and I have to say that this release is the most impressive one yet!

In this post, I discuss some of the exciting new features of Hawthorn such
as:

   - Learner progress tracking and Completion API
   - Optimized video quality with adaptive video streaming
   - Responsive mobile design and streamlined mobile apps
   - Easier formatting and image insertion (for course authors)
   - Improved files and uploads page
   - Override learner scores for individual problems
   - Improved Open Response Assessment (ORA)
   - Weekly highlight email (and "nudge" emails)
   - Student data privacy and GDPR features
   - Improved learner profiles
   - Improved discussion forum features

These features aren't discussed but mentioned:

   - Course reviews
   - Purchase all courses in a program
   - Group purchases
   - Proctored exames
   - Flexible content gating
   - Automatic certificate delivery
   - Transferable student records
   - Translated learner certificates
   - Program about pages
   - Expanded SSO support
   - Data via email, SFTP, API
   - Enterprise learners

Check out the post and leave a comment in the comments section with your
feedback! What features are *you* most excited about? What features do you
wish would be in a future release?
