No, you have not to enbale authentication - there is a option-dropdown for every
Zone (Green, orange, blue) on the Advanced Proxy Config-Page -> simply chose "no
authentication" - but in this case no group based rules are active and only IP´s
of requesters were loged.

No, it´s a Proxy ... that means, that a client or server opens a smtp-connection
and the proxy forwards the connection - an checks the forwarded mails.

It´s the job of the connected server to block mails, which are not for a valid
mail adress....
