Hi,

I want to use Endian on a brand new Dell Vostro 230 slim tower with an
onboard Broadcom Netxreme NIC. The Broadcom adapter uses the BCM57788
chipset from what I can determine. It shows up with the Broadcom vendor id
(14e4) and a device id of 1691. Unfortunately, the tg3 module doesn't seem
to include support for this device, at least not with the kernel used in EFW
2.4. Is there a way to get the existing module to recognize or support this
adapter? Is there a way to build and use a newer version of the tg3 driver
on the system? I'm willing to go through the setup of a development
environment and build the module but I'm just wondering if it's at all
possible.

Thanks,

JS
