with the following questions about DCOM (Distributed Component Object
Model)?
I know some of the questions are available on the DCOM site in the white
papers etc but I was looking for a professionl answer to some of the

the next six to twelve months?
14. What about all the existing investment in IT? Doesn't DCOM
technology require enterprise customers to replace their existing
systems?
15. Are there enterprise customers using DCOM technology today?
16. When do we expect DCOM technology to be widely deployed within
enterprises?
17. Is DCOM technology really going to fulfil the promise of true
portability across middleware solutions?
18. What compliance programs will Microsoft be providing?
19. Will there be a cost associated with Microsoft compliance programs?
20. Is Microsoft developing a reference implementation for DCOM
technology?
21. Is this reference implementation meant to be a commercial product?
22. What is the roadmap for DCOM technology?
23. What version of the JDK does DCOM technology support?
24. What about RMI/IIOP? Is that part of DCOM specification?

APIs? (e.g. JDBC, JNDI, JTS, JMS, etc.)
26. What are the design goals of the architecture?
27. What's the client view of an DCOM component?
28. Does the client interact with an DCOM component directly?
29. What methods are the Enterprise JavaBean developer required to
implement?
30. How does a client find and connect to a specific DCOM component?
31. What general services does a container provide for an DCOM
component?
