The great Sunspot cycle peak in 1957 was the greatest ever recorded. For some of us that were just coming into radio, it is hard to take cycles that do not reach those dizzy heights.
For a young ham in 1957, sitting in a mobile with AM rig of about 50 watts, talking to Australia in the middle of a Sat. afternoon was a great high point! There were plenty of other thrills in 57 and 58 cycle.
