Yves I completed my K-1 earlier this spring. If you're getting very little, I would be inclined to suspect the radio (or even the antenna plug) rather than the antenna. I can put 15 feet of hookup wire up a tree in Toronto and get "acceptable" reception ;-}. If you can't pick up signals with a piece of wire over a tree, take a look at the radio.
In my case, I had great reception right from the start on the lower bands, but nothing on 20M and 15M. Turned out to be a construction error on my part.
