Hi

The KAT100-1 is $239 and includes all of the case pieces you need to build
the tuner. The KAT100-2 only includes the front and rear panels to fit the
EC2. You still need to purchase the EC2 and you will not use the front and
rear panels that come with the EC2. The EC2 is $59 plus the KAT100-2 is $219
total $278. If you want to buy the KAT100-1 and then convert to the -2 later
then you will buy the -1 for $239 then later purchase the EC2 for $59 and
the panel kit for $39 for a total of $337. If the plan is to go with the
tuner in the EC2 then I would buy the -2 and the EC2 as this would save you
$59. You can use the KAT100-2 with or without the KPA100 installed in the
EC2 but typically the KAT100 and KPA100 is installed into the EC2 and the K2
has the QRP lid. The K2 can then be used QRP or plugged into the EC2 box for
QRO. Note you will need the KIO2 installed in the QRP lid for this to work
as the interface signals are brought out on the 9 pin connector on the KIO2
