John,

Since you seem to be certain of the cable --
Check the voltage at KIO2 or KPA100 AUX I/O pin 8 - it should be 12 
volts.  If it is not (and you have the KIO2), check to see if the 
RFChoke L1 on the KIO2 board is open.

When plugged into a powered on K2, all connectors on the cable should 
have 12 volts on pin 8.
