To stop the K3 Utility, click the red X at the top right, or on the File menu select "Exit", or click somewhere in the K3 Utility window and then press Alt-F4 on the keyboard. Just like any other Windows program.
After stopping the K3 Utility, turn the K3 off (remove its power plug), wait 30 seconds, then plug the K3 in again, press the power button, then start the K3 Utility program again. It should find the K3. Then load firmware with the K3 Utility. Don't reconnect P3 power until after you've successfully loaded K3 firmware. I'm about to run out for a symphony tonight (Bach's Brandenburg Concerti!), but I'll check on my iPhone from time to time. I'm sure the MCU is only partially loaded. Every time I start the K3 Utility it just keeps trying to contact the K3. P3 is unplugged. Just start the K3 Utility (but don't let the P3 power on) and load firmware. The k3 Utility should find the K3 in MCU LD state unless the P3 was turned on sometime after turning the K3 on.
