Having finished my base K2 a couple of weeks ago and spent some time getting familiar with its controls, I'm going to get started on the SSB board assembly this week. However I don't yet have a microphone I can use with it.
I have a Yaesu HT with the MH-57 speaker mic, and I'm hoping against hope that I can hack together a cable to connect it to my K2. I realize that a $40 hand mic would be the simpler solution, but in the interest of saving time I thought I would ask if this will work. I already have the connectors and mic cable I would need. These are the pinouts from the mic: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rg4wpw/vx10.jpg It looks like I might just need to connect PTT and GND, but I'm assuming this is a condenser mic and it might need some phantom power...
