GPS relies on very accurate timing of it's signals. Each satellite carries an atomic clock [Rubidium?] and the frequency of the satellite's various signals are thus extremely accurate and stable. With appropriate equipment, they can be used to control a standard oscillator which in turn controls the TXCO in the K3 to the same accuracy. The K2, K1, and KX1 have no such provision. > > Do I need one for my K1 ??
