Faberacoustical.com reports that this simple line-in only works with iPhone, not with iPad. Apparently the Griffin iMic does work, though, through the camera connection socket.
So, imperfect, but the KX3 - iPad combination is still very attractive. I have the iPad, just need to wait for the KX3.
