While this was true of some older products (FT1000MP, some Ten Tec rigs, etc.) it is NOT true of well designed ham gear, like the K3. High fidelity headphones and loudspeakers are designed for SMOOTH (flat) frequency response, not only WIDE response, and the SMOOTHNESS is FAR more important in good communications quality and low listening fatigue. Before W6XU turned me on to the CM500, I used Sony MDR7506 and Etymotic Research ER4s, both very high quality, pro products. I strongly agree with W3FPR that Heil products are wildly overpriced, and offer NO advantages over fine products like the CM500. 73, Jim Brown K9YC Fellow, Audio Engineering Society ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
