I would be concerned that going from 5/16 inch to 3/16 inch may be too much of a difference to assure that the screws have enough thread engagement. I would think going to 1/4 inch would be a better choice. ------------------------------- I agree Don. But I was told by Gary at Elecraft to use the 3/16" screws. There were no 1/4" screws in my kit.
