Rob, Just as another wild guess - I need to ask if the IF frequency you are attempting to transmit on is lower than 28 MHz? (i.e. are you attempting to transmit CW below 50 MHz?) If so, that would place the signal outside the ham band and the K2 may have no output at that frequency (the firmware controls that feature). Try using CW at the same frequency that you are successfully transmitting SSB.
