The kit version only. The film does not offer any significant protection beyond avoiding fingerprints. And it doesn't even do that very well since it doesn't always cover the full face of the display.
It is not always easy to see and remove. 73, Ron AC7AC From: Thomas Horsten [mailto:tho...@horsten.com] Sent: Monday, July 09, 2012 3:18 PM To: Ron D'Eau Claire Cc: Kevin Luxford; Elecraft Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KX3 Remove plastic film on display? Does this apply to the kit version? I'd have thought it was in place to protect the LCD in transit and during handling while assembling (until it's installed and the bezel takes over that protective role). In the factory built version it'd be very fiddly to remove it, but in the kit it's easy enough to remove although due care should be taken and a note to that effect in the assembly manual might be helpful. 73, Thomas ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
