Gary The K3 with the internal 2m module works excellent and it doesn't have to hang off the back of the transceiver. As for the 70cm the only choice for it is the transverter as far 6m if is already in the K3 to begin with.
I use a smaller amp to drive my large 2m amp and it works out quite well that way.
