Thank you for the heads up on the warranty problems. I have decided to go again with a 35 amp analog Astron. Thanks to all that responded. Nice to hear what other are using and how it works out. Never had a problem running everything from a single battery (been doing it for many years) - mostly in RX mode for everything (HF, 2M and scanner). Note, however, that I run a Kenwood TS480 during power outs. It is far less fussy about low voltage than the K3 (my experience).
