======== You can probably answer your own question by looking at the life of XP. There have been 3 generations of Windows since XP, which was last produced in late 2006. If the two generations between XP and Win 8 are each supported for 6 years after last production date, you will have a dozen years to bring your software, hardware, and other things up to date. Presumably by 2024 there will be other problems to worry about.
