My (strong) recommendation would be 'fldigi', which runs natively under Mac OS X, including/especially Mountain Lion. I also recommend RUMlog for day-to-day logging and RUMped for contesting. The DSP code running in 'fldigi' is also used on Ham Radio DeLuxe, which runs under Windows - it's very solid and has done an excellent job for me.
