Don, Thanks. Good advice. I was mistaken, the KX3 Utility uses COM 6, not COM 3 like I thought. So I got that part working. Now I'm trying to figure out why both the Utility and NaP3 are only communicating at 4800 baud, instead of the usual 38400. I have the latest FTDI drivers for the USB Adapter.
On another issues, I was using my notebook's built-in sound card which has a 48,000 sampling rate at 16 bits. I found the base noise level is much lower with a Soundblaster sampling at 48,000 and 24 bits. The Soundblaster can sample at 96,000 rate, but that doesn't seem to be on option on NaP3's set-up. Getting there slowly... 73, Ron ---------------------------------------- Ron Gruner K4RHG ---------------------------------------- From: "Don Wilhelm" <w3...@embarqmail.com> Sent: Sunday, April 21, 2013 4:42 PM To: r...@gruner.com Subject: Re: [Elecraft] NaP3 and KX3 connection Ron, Which Com port is selected when you connect with K3Utility? You should be able to use the same one with NaP3. If the port is not detected by NaP3, I would suspect a com port driver problem rather than NaP3 - it can only report what it receives from the computer. If it does not receive the expected response when polling for available ports, NaP3 will assume that the port is either not there or is not working properly. 73, Don W3FPR On 4/20/2013 1:28 PM, Ron Gruner wrote: > I am trying to install NaP3 for my KX3.
