If you have a reasonably quiet location, it makes a significant difference. With the K3's internal preamp on, if you disconnect your antenna, does the noise level drop? If not, you probably want the PR6. Installation is fairly straightforward - it mounts externally on the KXV3 (which you must have, of course!) using a pair of BNC couplers. If you want to use the DIGOUT signal from the ACC port to turn the PR6 on for 6m only, you need to make that connection. If you have something else connected to the ACC port, you may need a 'Y', or to make some custom cabling. If you do not have any other RX antennae that you need to pass through the PR6 for other bands, you can leave it on all the time, and use the 'RX ANT' function on the K3 to select it for 6m only. 73, ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
