1280x1024 is about as high as I can push my 19" display
and have a full screen image that looks good.
I only use fix tune mode

Mike,

If you read the P3SVGA manual, it states that "For faster screen updates
when using fixed tune
mode, we recommend setting the P3SVGA
resolution to 1440 x 900 or less. Note that
1440 x 900 will display correctly on
1920 x 1080 monitors."

That means that it will display a 1440 x 900 resolution OK on 1920 X
1080 monitors, but it does not mean that it will fill the display.

I searched the archive and reviewed a 2012 thread on the subject of
displaying the P3/SVGA on a 1920x1080 monitor. I thought this issue was
resolved but I just puchased a 22" Asus monitor with a native
resolution of
1920x1080 at 60Hz and the P3/SVGA does not fill the screen
horizontally. It
fills the screen completely vertically but leaves almost 1.5" of black
screen on both sides. If I select 1440x900 it fills the screen fully. The
1920x1080-alt resolution produces an ill fitting display with unreadable
text.
