Keith, Shouldn't be a problem for you. I used to run phone patches from there back in 67-68 into Oregon mostly. Was KW6GB at the time. Heathkit SB300/400 at 180W to a 3el beam. Try it at 0100Z and later, 10, 15, or 20M depending where they will be on freq. From CA, not a problem. Check out http://wake2013.org/index.html - Good hunting folks. My K3 is ready.
