#1) I have my SVGA resolution set to the native resolution of my Samsung 20" monitor, 1440 X 900, but the status bar on the bottom line is being cut off. Unfortunately the monitor display can only be shifted up or down; it can't be shrunk vertically.
I didn't notice the problem when I was using the monitor with a computer. Is the P3/SVGA display the correct height (900 pixels) or do I have a monitor problem? I thought I read that a 1440 X 900 monitor was said to be best with the P3/SVGA. Is that true? Any suggestions for a different monitor? #2) I had only experimented with the text decode feature of my K3 before getting the SVGA board. Now that I have the SVGA I can see how well the decode feature works. It was doing a good job of copying W5UXH last night at 65 wpm on 40M with four or five lines of text with the data text font set to 2, which appears to be about 80 characters across. The decoded text on the K3 display is only eight characters, of course, and is superfluous with the decoded text on the P3. Could the decoded text display on the K3 be turned off with a K3 firmware change? I'd much rather have the frequency of VFO B displayed all the time. Various: I bought a corded Logitech K120 USB keyboard at Staples. It was $15, I think, in the store, but they matched the online price of $11.09 - amazing. Walmart has it for approximately the same price. (I didn't know Walmart has such a large selection of keyboards on its website.) The K120 doesn't have any of the frills of the larger keyboards but has a full-size layout and full-motion keys. It has LEDs for Num Lock and the others. I haven't found a current list of the SVGA menu descriptions, maybe because they are self-explanatory. Is that available? 73, Jim N7US ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
