Or, as in this case, when release notes also double as documentation for a new function -- sort of a mini pre-release of formal documentation to be updated. I also always read the Preface of books, all books. On some technical books, I peruse the index because often times there are little jewels of information hidden away in the index. An index is not just a list of words referenced in the book -- it contains nifty cross-references and often times other terms that of related information. And, when I read technical books (usually Physics and Math) I study the background of the author. Sometimes, if Physics, I am reading some of their published papers (I am a member of APS primarily to gain access to physics research papers). Yes, I do read release notes and many times I even print them out and include in my notebook collection of things about the Elecraft rigs. 73, phil, K7PEH P.S. I usually do not read the actual user documentation before trying out things though. I need to get better at that. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
