The key (and thanks for not asking how I know) is "precharged" vs. normal NiMH batteries.

"Precharged" batteries have a far lower internal discharge rate, compared to normal, standard batteries.

If you have precharged batteries (like the Eneloop XX), your KX3 will work when you pick it up to play with it.

If you don't, the batteries will likely be dead, and you'll have to delay your fun until the batteries have had enough time to charge.
