Can't agree more with what you say about the KX3 !
The KX3 is a superb piece of engineering 
In my circumstances as apartment dweller with very limited antenna options - 
WSJT modes allow me to still operate and make QSO's -  thanks Joe Taylor!
In other circumstances there wouldn't be an issue
I envy your EME escapades!
