Don, Jim, thanks. Could be a processor, agree. Paradoxically, I have excactly the same problem with the big MFJ-927 tuner and the preprogrammed chip replacement from the company made no cure, :). The buttons seems like working for they do switching during the test mode. I'll definetely write to the Electaft tech support, they are quick and friendly, once have helped me a lot by guiding through the fix of the K3 I/O board.
