James, Am not sure why you need a tuner between the radio and the amp in the first place?? As of now, I have my K3S or K3 driving a Alpha 9500. I never have used the tuner in either when driving the amp? I assume the KPA9500 will have a 52 ohm input, and you would not need a tuner. Dick, K8ZTT

At that point, it will always show the SWR of the coax feedline, not the SWR that the amplifier "sees" as adjusted by the built-in tuner. Or, is there a coupler built-in inside the KPA1500 ?
