JT, The Elecraft KAT2, KAT1, KXAT1, KAT100 and KAT100 already contain wattmeters, so if you have one of these in your station, you do have a wattmeter buit in - no need to carry a separate wattmeter, particularly for the trail. Of course, if you are using a non-Elecraft QRP rig, then the need is obvious, and the T1 can serve the purpose there.
