"How do I know what the tuner has finished tuning for a particular band?"

You can't train for a "band". You have to train (establish a tuning solution 
for) each "bin" within each band. For each bin you have to chose whether you 
want to chose the upper edge, lower edge, center, or some commonly used 
frequency within that bin 's range. Each bin tune needs to handled as a 
complete autotune sequence. Lots of manual steps that could be automated 
(except for reservations about the legality).

All comments based on experience with KAT500 not KPA1500.
