The charger I have doesn't seem to exhibit that behavior, but I can see how others might -- it would look to the charger as if the battery magically jumped backwards in state of charge.
Can I trust something like the Epic PWRgate to handle simultaneously charging the battery and running the radio from the same power supply? It claims to handle juggling a power supply, battery, solar cell, and load. 73, Julie On Wed, Oct 20, 2021, 17:53 Howard Hoyt <hh...@mebtel.net> wrote: > The charger needs to see the quiescent current draw of the battery as it > is following it's constant current and constant voltage charge curve. > > Having designed Li chargers I can tell you that if deviation from > expected current in the CV part of the charge curve will cause the > charger logic to error out and abort charging with many charge ICs.
