Yes, it's a classic. But the LP100A comes with individually calibrated probes, has peak reading modes, reads complex impedance, and is capable of greater precision. Early in the life of the K3, I'd heard on good authority that an LP100A was in use at Elecraft for final test.

I have two Birds and a large stash of elements, but they only get used for bench and troubleshooting. I just made a gift of one to a friend who got burned out in the major wildfire that almost got us too.
