I understand the desire for an 8 band eq. These seem to have fallen by the wayside except for some dedicated stereo rack mounted stuff. Parametric eq is available on most small 4-8ch mixer/mic pre units like my little Behringer I use it for headphone audio line out and it has a built in headphone monitor. But it is parametric not octave eq.
