I use an SDRPlay RSP with HDSDR with my TS-590S. I have never used a P3 so don't know what, if anything, is special about it. I can see all of any band or zoom in. I can click on any signal of interest to tune my TX-590S to it. If I wish to I can use the panadapter to monitor a band other than that tuned on the TS-590S. The RSP is an independent receiver so it is not constrained to the transceiver IF. Years ago I gave a presentation on panadapters to my local club.
