Bernie, I would suggest that you go with Spectrogram now - for all the filters. It is harder to explain than to do it. See the information at my website http://w3fpr.qrpradio.com - the CAL FIL info is inside part 3 of the article on K2 dial calibration.
The noise generator will not provide more accuracy than noise from a 'dead band'. In these days of low sunspot activity, you should easily find a band that is a bit noisy and contains no discrete signals. Yes, the NGEN is convenient, but it should not be any stopping block for you to get your K2 filters aligned - even the internal receiver noise (turn the preamp on) will give you an adequate amplitude of the receiver passband to align the filters.
