I agree with Chuck. I have all the Yaesu knobs because I have all the Yaesu rigs. The K2 knob with the finger dimple is excellent. I think you need to be careful about the amount of pressure the knob has on the felt. At first I had it to tight. After a few tries I got excellent feel with no backlash. It tunes very smoothly. none of the Yaesu knobs seemed much better - although they do look nice.

I tried a couple of alternate tuning knobs on my K2.
I tired using the Knob from my Ten Tec Argo V, I think the shaft size was
different or poor aesthetics, it was a while ago and I don't remember exactly,
I just know that it did not work.

Then I tried a FT 100 knob for a while and I needed to add extra felt behind
the knob to keep it from being too sensitive. I ordered the knob directly from
Vertex Standard USA Customer service. It worked nice, looked pretty, but it
just kind of messed with my perfect Elecraft Mojo so I sold it.

Finally I went back to my original K2 knob and added the Finger Dimple. The pictures and description on the Elecraft web site do not do justice to this great little inexpensive addition. The Finger Dimple is perfect, if anything it should come as a standard item with every K2.
