I prefer to get closer to my work, like I could when I was a kid and my eyes
would focus on the end of my nose!

Now, if I were digging around inside a live patient as a surgeon, I might
not want to get quite so close <G>.

Even though I like the ability to get close the Optivisor gives me, I
heartily agree with Robert, VE3RPF. Prepare an article for QST. If you don't
have that picture in high-res (10 megapixel or on film), take one. Look up
actual sources for all the parts. Show exactly how to assemble it with more
pictures or line drawings. Yes, doing an article is at least ten times the
work of creating the device in the first place, but it's something your
fellow Hams will appreciate (and QST will pay you a nominal fee to do if
they accept your work).

Or you can build one :O)

I built this little gadget about a year ago. I use it for close work.
I modified a pair of $10 binoculars.
I can either use it with head gear or on a stand. It has 8X
magnifications making objects large and crystal clear.
I mainly use this for SMD devices but could be used with regular
soldering as well.

Have a look.

I should really write a QST article but not sure if this is the kinda
stuff QST wants.
