Hi, JT.

You'll find building the XV50 a "snap" after building the K2. It's a much
simpler piece of equipment, of course, and most of the circuitry is laid out
on one spacious pc board.

Are the Elecraft XV's any more difficult to build than a K2? To my surprise
and limited skills, I was able to build my K2 along with several options
successfully with only minor difficulties. My soldering job isn't the
cleanest in the world but the rig works as spec'd. However, with that said,
I could see my soldering improving as I progressed from stage to stage. My
biggest problem is feeding too much solder into the joint. I think I need
to switch to a smaller diameter solder.

I'd like to procure an XV50 around the first week of October. However, this
will be cutting it close time wise for it's intended purpose; the 50MHz
Sprint on October 20th. However, this shouldn't be much of a problem as I
am currently disabled and have more time than I know what to do with lately.

Thanks for any feedback.
