I agree with your calculation if you use the same battery chemistry. I you compare a lead acid battery with a Nicad or NiMh battery it is probably a different thing. You should never deep discharge a lead acid battery. They don't live very long if you do it. On the other side NiCad should not be charged if they are not discharged.
