This is the way it has always behaved. We wanted to see if AM operators would like it better this way (i.e., to know how much carrier power the transmitter was actually set for, which seems "safer" than displaying AM voice power, if not the traditional way). I haven't heard much about it one way or the other until now. It's on my list for review.
