After looking more closely, I realized that the standoff just provides extra stiffening at the connector. I found a hex nylon standoff in my junk box, that works perfectly. It's was threaded 6-32, but it's a snug enough fit without being screwed in place once the DSP board is mounted.

It just helps you provide a little extra pressure as you push the FP to the RF board. It's nylon, it doesn't make a connection so there's no apparent impact to the circuit.
