Hi,

Yes, I usually run with the RF gain down to keep the major qrn down 
on 160 & 80. For the other bands I leave it fully clockwise.

The changes I've made (thanks to the suggestions here) seem to be 
helping somewhat. That's a plus so I'll experiment some more.
