Steve, Since I wrote the firmware in question I thought I'd jump in here.
When you vary the K3's CONFIG:CW WGHT parameter, it changes the length of both dots and dashes in relation to the spaces between them. I just looked at the RF envelope on an oscilloscope to verify this.
